The role of youth in solving local problems

Bhairahawa, Nepal: A two-day training on the role of youth in solving local problems and issues has started at Hotel Peace Night in Bhairahawa, Nepal with the support of ABC Nepal and Storm Foundation.

Speaking at the training that was started under the chairmanship of ABC Nepal Regional Head Manaj Lamichhane said, it is wrong to abide the present situations and start the future by remembering the work done in the past. He said that the youths should play a role in solving the problems and issues by highlighting the present rather than planning for the future to solve the local problems and issues.

He also said that the youths should take measures to solve the local problems and issues by debating and lobbying with the local people’s representatives and stakeholders.

Laxminath Gyanwali imparted training on debates and advocacy in order to solve problems and issues. While imparting the training, Gyanwali said that the main reasons for the increase in local problems and issues are illiteracy and various negative sentiments of the community.

The training was attended by 20 young men and women of the Kishor-Kishori Network conducted at three local levels in West Nawalparasi,Nepal. In addition, the youths presented their problems and issues in their local bodies and also discussed debates and advocacy issues.
