Food and health items were distributed to the flood victims of Bardaghat in West Nawalparasi on Thursday, The Horizon Times, News of Nepal

Bardaghat: Food and health items have been distributed to the flood victims of Bardaghat- 4 on Thursday under the flood response project with the financial support of Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Center, KIRDAC Nepal, Start Fund Nepal, and technical assistance of Action Aid Nepal and Strom Foundation ABC Nepal.

The project coordinator Rawal clarified the objectives and program of the relief distribution program chaired by Lukuni Chamar, executive member of Bardaghat Municipality, and hosted by Krishna Rawal, project coordinator of KIRDAC. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Gyawali, Chairman of Shiva Smriti Toll Development Association, thanked the project for providing food and other essential items to the flood-affected people.

In the program, 100 families of Smriti Tol of Bardaghat-4, which was inundated due to incessant rains last September and flood-affected, were provided with rice, pulses, salt, sugar, oil, buckets, jugs, fillets, sanitary pads, masks, sanitizers, and soap. According to Bishwaraj Lamichhane, district coordinator of the project, materials worth NRs 7,576.50 have been distributed to 16 households.

The event was attended by people’s representatives, local social workers, project staff, representatives of allied organizations, journalists, and flood-affected families. According to Lamichhane, the project has already distributed the same amount to 100 families affected by the landslide in Nawalparasi East Hupsekot on Wednesday alone and will also distribute it in Sarawal, Pratappur, and Palhinandan in the coming days.
