Nawalparasi: The Hulaki highway that is under construction connecting East and West of Nepal has started collapsing. The locals have been tormented after the Mahendra Highway from Mechi to Mahakali and the postal highway passing through the southern part started collapsing without any operation.
Locals said that the road collapsed due to incessant rains as the road construction company did not complete the construction work on time and did not pay attention to the construction work.
Also, the road in Pratappur Bridge area of Pratappur Rural Municipality, Ward No. 9 of Nawalparasi has started collapsing due to heavy rains. Similarly, the road under construction from Parasi to Pratappur has collapsed in some places.
Locals have said that if the district transport office does not pay attention to road maintenance immediately, there will be difficulty in getting around and the possibility of accidents will increase.
