Food bank eastblished by Sankalpa Foundation

A food bank has been established in Basa Basahi, Ward No. 1 of Sarawal Rural Municipality in West Nawalparasi. The program has been completed with the coordination of Sankalpa Foundation with the help of various donors. The program has been concluded under the chairmanship of Sankalpa Foundation Chairman Mr. Sushant Sharma Ghimire and the chief guest of Sarawal Rural Municipality Chairman Mr. Radheshyam Chaudhary and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Buddha Prakash Poudel.

The program was concluded with the hospitality of president of ward No. 1 Mr. Bhesh Narayan Chaudhary, with the advisor Mr. Raju Dhakal, Social Service Mr. Khimlal Pokheral, Chet Narayan Chaudhary, Devraj Shrestha and Mr. Radheshyam Chaudahry.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Mr. RadheShyam Chaudhary said that the food bank, which is under the slogan “Let’s give who have, let’s take, who don’t“, has always been helping the poor, helpless, disabled, orphaned children and people with disabilities through the program.

The Sarawal Rural Municipality is always ready to help in the work of Sankalpa Foundation and has always been ready to help in the coming days. Chairman Mr. Chaudhary had said that the municipality is always with the youths.

Also, the special guest Mr. Poudel said that they have been visiting the houses of the locals in Sarawal Rural Municipality to understand the situation of Epidemic Covid-19 and have been providing various food items if necessary.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Mr. Ghimire said, “Your little help can save someone’s life, so come and join hands, be the charioteer of social campaigns.” Food items, pulses, oil, salt, vegetables, chewing gum, soybeans and milk were distributed by the Sankalpa Foundation.

Chairman Mr. Ghimire has requested for the help of various local level political parties, industrialists, businessmen and social workers to operate the food bank from ward No. 1 to 7 within the Sarawal Rural Municipality until the situation improves.

Mr. Ghimire has requested that only poor, orphaned children and disabled families who could die from starvation and maintaining social distance should come to the food bank for help. The program was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Maurya, General Secretary of Sankalpa Foundation.
