Kapilvastu: Vegetable seeds have been distributed to a group of farmers of Shivaraj Municipality, Ward No. 3 of Kapilvastu. In a program organized in Kharendrapur on Wednesday, members of nine farmer groups were given seeds.
Addressing the distribution program, Shivaraj Nagar Deputy Chief Shiva Kumari Tharu stressed increasing the production in vegetable farming instead of storing the seeds distributed by the ward at home. Stating that it will help in reducing the import of foreign vegetables, she said that local resources will also be used and jobs will be created. Tharu informed that priority has been given to the farmers.
According to the ward office, 225 members of different villages of ward no. 3 were provided the seeds.
Ward President Teklal Sapkota presided over the function. The program was addressed by Shivraj Municipality Agriculture Branch Chief Tara Chand Chaudhary, Social activist Balram Marasini, Naina Adai of Jaljala Agriculture Committee.
