India lost 269 doctors to Covid-19 in the second wave, bringing the total to over 1000

India: India has lost 269 doctors in the second wave of Covid-19, which has devastated the country for the past two months, according to the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

According to IMA reports, states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have had the highest number of doctor casualties.

In the second wave, 78 doctors died in Bihar, while 37 doctors died in Uttar Pradesh.

Covid-19 has claimed the lives of 28 doctors in Delhi, which was hit hard by the second wave.

Just 66 percent of India’s total healthcare workforce has been completely vaccinated so far.

In the first wave of Covid-19 last year, India lost another 748 doctors.

While the IMA claims that a thousand doctors have died as a result of Covid-19, the true number may be much higher because the doctors’ association only keeps track of its 3.5 lakh members.

More than 12 lakh doctors work in India.
