In fiscal year 2089/80, 72 complaints against abuse of authority were received from West Nawalparasi district, according to the Butwal Authority Investigation Commission. Out of which 38 complaints have been heard and 34 more complaints are pending. It is mentioned in the report that among the seven municipalities of Nawalparasi, the least number of complaints were received from Susta Rural Municipality and the highest number of complaints from Palhinandan Rural Municipality.
The report was released on Friday in West Nawalparasi at a program on service delivery, transparency and accountability provided by the local level with the slogan of good governance for development and prosperity.
Similarly, it is said that in the financial year 2089/80 in Ramgram municipality, 11 complaints have been filed and 8 have been heard and 3 complaints are pending to be heard. The program was held under the chairmanship of Ramji Gyawali, the president of the anti-corruption citizen monitoring organization, and Dhanpat Yadav, the mayor of Ramgram Municipality, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Head of Ramgram Municipality, Mejadan Chaudhary, Assistant Superintendent of District Administration Office, Prakash Devkota, District President of Consumer Interest Protection Forum and Advocate Saraswati Sharma, etc. spoke and said that corruption is increasing day by day as politics is not considered as a social service, but as a profession.
Sumangopal Acharya, advisor of Bhattachar anti-corruption citizen monitoring organization, Hari Sharma, district president of Nepal Journalist Association, ward presidents and members of 18 wards of Ramgram municipality, and people from various organizations participated in the program.
The program was facilitated by Man Bahadur Khadka, Chief Administrative Officer of Ramgram Municipality, while Babu Ram Pandey, Vice President of the organization and Advocate, presented the working papers of the organization.
