NawalParasi, Nepal: A rural municipality level women’s building is being constructed on the encroached land in Sarawal Rural Municipality of West Nawalparasi, Nepal.
The local government has vacated the encroached land in Sarawal Rual Municipality Ward No. 3, Sarawal and started construction of women’s buildings at the municipality level.
The local government has been clearing the encroached lands within the rural municipality and carrying out various construction works for the benefit of the people.
Under the leadership of Uttama Rai, Deputy Chief of Sarawal Rural Municipality and Inter-Party Women’s Network, various well-equipped buildings are being constructed on the vacated land.
The rural municipality-level women’s building is being constructed immediately by clearing the encroached land.
The Deputy Chief said that they have set a target of constructing a women’s building at a cost of Nrs. 3 million.
In the context of Nepal, various works of construction of suitable and convenient buildings for the people in the rural areas have not been established yet.
At the same time, even the government land has been encroached upon by big hands.
She said that even though the local government was working for the welfare of the people, the people were obstructing it.
The Deputy Chief said that the women’s building was constructed by vacating the encroached land which was occupied by rich and big hands.
