NawalParasi, Nepal: The program against child marriage has been completed with the financial support of ABC Nepal, Storm Foundation and Palhinandan Rural Municipality by Bagmati Dialogue Center.
A rally against child marriage was held under the chairmanship of Mina Gupta, chairperson of the support committee of the Bagmati Dialogue Center.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Gupta said that child marriage is an illegal and crime as well but people of the community are marrying off their children before reaching the age of marriage.
Getting married at a young age can increase the physical and mental stress of children and also affect their kids after giving birth.
It has also been observed that the child born to them is with of Mal-nutrition and the mother almost die while giving birth at a young age.
She said that it was necessary to raise public awareness against child marriage in order to solve such problems and end the practice of child marriage.
ABC Nepal Supervisor Rajman Barai and 50 teenagers participated in the program.
