Kapilvastu, Nepal: A dummy traffic police has been deployed at Chandrauta Chok, Shivaraj Municipality-5 of Kapilvastu on Wednesday.
Wearing black glasses, a mask, a traffic police uniform, a dummy traffic in the middle of the road with a warning sign in hand, the Lumbini Province Traffic Police now has dummy police in various parts of the state to reduce road accidents.
Police Inspector Dilip Chhetri of the District Traffic Police Office, Kapilvastu informed that the “Dummy Police” will help in reducing the number of road accidents.
After seeing the dummy, it pretended to be a traffic policeman, reduced speed, put on his seatbelt and followed the traffic rules, said Chhetri.
Dummy police have been deployed at Gorusinge and Chandrauta Chok, the main markets of the district, and an awareness program will be organized at Jitpur and Taulihawa soon, said Inspector Chhetri.
Police Inspector Dipesh Kharel of Ward Police Office Chandrauta, CPN District Member Youth Leader Saroj Paudel, Om Thapa and other youths were present.
