Kapilvastu, Nepal: Son Kumari Tharu, member of Tharu Journalists Association Nepal Kapilvastu and news chief of Radio Vijayanagar 100.7 MHz has been honored.
Municipality Chairman Gopal Bahadur Thapa said that Tharu was honored as the best local media person by highly appreciating the information and news dissemination about the overall development activities of Vijayanagar rural municipality.
Chairman Thapa honored Tharu on Saturday with a letter of appreciation and Rs 12,500 in cash. News chief Tharu has been honored under the best person program provided by the rural municipality every year, said Govinda Bhattarai, administrative officer of the rural municipality.
Journalist Tharu has been working in the field of communication for the past seven years in various radios including Radio Kapilvastu.
It is said that Tharu, who entered the media field from Kapilvastu’s first radio Kapilvastu, has been honored by the Vijayanagar rural Municipality while working as the news chief of Tharu Radio Vijayanagar.
In the second meeting of the ninth village council held in the meeting hall of the rural municipality, the best employees, media persons and social workers have been honored.
Social worker Sheetla Chai, Ward No. 4 Secretary Suresh Basyal, Health Office Assistant Rameshwar Lonia, Ward No. 2 Office Assistant Parvez Ahmed Kha, Assistant Office Operator Ravi Pratap Yadav, Accountant Govind Adhikari, A.S.E. Shiva Bahadur Badhai and others were rewarded with cash and honored, according to the rural municipality.
