Bribery in Neapl for recommending Citizenship, Nepal News

Nepal: A ward chairman of Krishnanagar municipality of Kapilvastu has been found to have engaged in financial manipulation to recommend citizenship. The secret is out when the ward chairman asked for money for lunch expenses when he was holding the ward office to recommend a service recipient for a long time.

Satish Kumar Harijan, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 9, who took Rs. 6,000 for making citizenship of Ram Sevak (name changed) has been revealed.

Ward Chairman did not sign the recommendation for citizenship, even after several approaches and he is repeatedly asking for money other than the fee prescribed by the law. He said: “He had to go to the ward office several times, but after taking the money, he signed it.”

Source informed that President Harijan took 4 thousand for the first time from the customer. After that, after asking for a recommendation with identification, the beneficiary met the ward chairman Harijan, he said. The service user claimed that he only signed after taking 1000 in cash stating that petrol was filled into the motorcycle when he went to Chandrauta, the administration office of area for the identification period.

Ward president Satish Kumar Harijan could not be contacted when trying to understand this. On the other hand, after understanding the city head Rajat Pratap Shah, the ward chairman has taken money from the service recipient and said that the service recipient should file a written complaint with the municipality and take action after understanding the truth about the incident.
He said: “An application should be made, I will check the service facilities. We need a basis for action.”
