Nepal: Siddharth Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Sunwal-12 Bhumahi celebrated its 25th anniversary and silver jubilee ceremony on Wednesday in Bhumahi. The program was completed under the chairmanship of Yamlal Pandey, the president of the organization, and Khadak Basnet, a member of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly, as the chief guest.
Speaking at the program, Chief Guest Provincial Assembly Member Basnet wished the cooperative to succeed in creating a cooperative with a distinct identity in society, searching for new work to be done by the cooperative. He emphasized that model work should be started from Siddhartha Multi-purpose Cooperative. He said that the change should be done by oneself and claimed that if there is no change, society cannot change. He said that this cooperative should cooperate with local schools to produce skilled manpower.
Similarly, Yamlal Pandey, the president of the organization, said that under the leadership of the late Nityanand Pokharel, the Rajat Jayanti festival was celebrated on the basis of the day of establishment on Magh 18, 2054 B.S. He said that he has been celebrating the establishment day of the organization on Magh 18 every year with various programs.
He said that this cooperative has taken this program forward by holding a special program on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of Magh to celebrate its silver jubilee. He said that on the 16th of Magh, he successfully completed the work of exposing and training the 500 share members associated with this cooperative through the cooperative education camp.
Similarly, on Magh 17th, it was informed that 3 women representatives including the coordinators of different villages were provided training in women’s leadership development under the leadership of Usha Banjade, the coordinator of the women’s empowerment sub-committee, who is affiliated with this cooperative, on the topic of the role of cooperatives in economic development.
Chairman Pandey informed that in this cooperative which has 2037 B.S share members, the share capital is 45 million rupees and the Jargeda fund is 2.72 million rupees. He said that this cooperative organization is in a good condition as every financial transaction is transparent and strong since this cooperative organization has been moving forward strongly in the past.
Jairam Basyal, the vice president of the organization gave a welcome address in the program, Lekhnath Kharel, president of Lumbini Sunwal Sakos, Dolraj Bhandari, district vice president of CPN UML, Peu Narayan Neupane, former president of Siddharth Multi-Purpose Cooperative Organization, Tank Prasad Neupane, outgoing president of the organization, Kamal Prasad Chai, Ward President of Ward No. 11 of Sunwal Municipality, were present in the program.
Nepali Congress District Working Committee member Ram Bahadur Chhetri, Chief of District Coordination Committee Nawalparasi Bhagauti Prasad Yadav, and others gave congratulatory remarks.
Three people were posthumously honored including the founding president of the cooperative Mr. Nityanand Pokharel in the inauguration, honors, awards, and cultural program. On the same occasion, the members who have contributed to the board of directors and various sub-committees since the inception of the cooperative, the employees since the inception, and prizes were distributed to the winning students of the oratory competition.
National artist Khuman Adhikari, folk singer Ramila Neupane, famous dancer Abhishek Khadka and other local artists were featured in the program. The program was conducted by Ramesh Parajuli.
