25th Foundation Day of Press Chautari Nepal completed in West Nawalparasi, Nepal News

Nepal: On the occasion of the 25th Foundation Day of Press Chautari Nepal has been celebrated with various programs across the country today. Press Chautari Nepal Nawalparasi, which is a watchdog organization of working journalists, organized a program on the foundation day Sunday and completed the foundation day and creative journalism award distribution program.

Press Chautari spoke in the program under the chairmanship of Meghraj Gautam, District President of Nepal and CPN-UML Ramgram Nagar Committee in-charge, and Ramgram Municipality Mayor Dhanpat Yadav as chief guest. He urged them to continue investigative journalism while alerting them.

On this occasion, Shanta Bhandari, the first female journalist from West Nawalparasi, was honored with this year’s Creative Journalism Award. The Press Chautari Creative Journalism Award given by Press Chautari Nepal Nawalparasi has been awarded to journalist Bhandari this year.

CPN-UML Nawalparasi District President Dipendra Kumar Adhikari established the Creative Journalism Award in memory of his son Shakti Adhikari. With this award, journalist Bhandari was awarded the Creative Journalism Award to journalist Bhandari in recognition of his contribution to Press Chautari Nepal and the field of journalism for a long time in Nawalparasi district. He was honored with a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

Ramu Bhushal, district secretary of the organization, said that Press Chautari Nepal Nawalparasi has awarded creative journalism awards to journalists Keshab Parajuli, Lal Kumar Bhattarai, Sher Bahadur KC, Raj Kumar Reshmi, Bidrohi Giri, etc.

On this occasion, Press Chautari Member Development Officer, Honorable Journalist Shanta Bhandari, Press Chautari Lumbini Provincial Secretary Benimadhav Bashyal, Nepal Journalist Federation President Hari Sharma, Sarawal Rural Municipality President Sukhadi Chaudhary, CPN UML District Committee Member and Press Chautari Incharge Narayan Pandey, etc. delivered the speech. District Vice President Gauri Shankar Jaiswal delivered the welcome speech. The program was coordinated by Ramu Bhusal.

On that occasion, with the aim of supporting the journalists in the district, the Press Chautari Journalist Welfare Fund has been established and the district treasurer Madhav Prasad Ghimire informed that 40,000 has been collected for the fund today.
