Kapilvastu, Nepal: The 42nd general meeting of Shivgadhi Cooperative Society Limited has been concluded. The assembly program was held in Shivpur Municipality Ward No. 6, Birpur on Saturday.
It is mentioned in the annual report submitted by the manager of the cooperative, Tulsiram Chaudhary, that the cooperative had a turnover of NRs 19.3 million in the last fiscal year 2076-07 B.S.
Addressing the general assembly program, Santari Prasad Chaudhary, chairperson of , Shivraj Municipality Ward No. 6, said that Shivgadhi Cooperative has worked for the benefit of the general public.
He lauded the work of selling and distributing agricultural products during the farming season as most of the farmers are involved in the cooperatives. Chairman Chaudhary said that the development of the habit of saving a little by joining local cooperatives was commendable.
Chaudhary expressed happiness over the cooperative’s continuous service to the people for the 42nd year. He suggested that the cooperatives would help in raising the living standard by investing in the productive sector in the coming days.
And he said, “People who have a lot of money go to the bank and deposit, but for the common people in the village, cooperatives are very effective.”
The Shivgadhi Cooperative has been providing fertilizer and weather-friendly seeds for the last 42 years by keeping a liaison office in Chandrauta and has 158 share members.
Addressing the program chaired by Aniruddha Prasad Chaudhary, Narayan Gyawali, Ram Sumiran Chaudhary and others praised the work of the cooperative in bringing agricultural inputs to the general public for years.
