A shocking video shows an Asian shop owner in Washington, DC being punched by a customer

Washington, DC: Chong Hu Lu, the owner of Max Trading, told Aimee Cho of NBC Washington that a customer assaulted him on Tuesday.

He said the customer hit him after he explained that it was against store policy to remove jewellery from cases.

The guy seen hitting Lu on security footage has not been apprehended.

On Tuesday, an Asian-American shop owner in Washington, DC, claims he was hit in the face by a customer, prompting him to seek medical attention. 14 stitches are made while medical treatment.

Chong Hu Lu, the owner of Max Trading, told NBC Washington’s Aimee Cho that a customer hit him after being enraged at a store policy prohibiting customers from taking jewellery out of their cases.

Before assaulting him, the man shouted “F*** you Chinese people, I hate you,” according to Lu.

Lu is seen interacting with a man before being hit numerous times and knocked to the ground in surveillance video from the attack.

The man escaped and has yet to be apprehended.

Officers are monitoring the attack, according to NBC Washington.

In recent months, violence against Asian Americans has increased in the United States.
