India: In India, the Delta plus form of Covid-19 is quickly spreading. Nearly 20 persons have been confirmed for the virus in India so far, with Mumbai account for approximately 8 of them, most of them have been recorded from Ratnagiri.
In Ratnagiri, which is one of 3 Maharashtra districts with a weekly Covid positive rate of over 10%, over 8 cases of the delta plus variation were discovered.
5 cases of Delta-plus were originally discovered in Ratnagiri in May, prompting the sending of 50 samples to the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology for genome sequencing (IGIB).
Ratnagiri had a positivity rating of 11.9 percent in the week ending June 17.
