Madar Baba Fair, which is located in Susta Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 Mahalbari of Paschim Nawalparasi, is a place of faith. Madar Baba Mela, which has been developed as a common center for both Hindus and Muslims, will start from Friday, January 27 this year.

The organizing committee has informed that the preparation of Madar Baba Mela has reached its final stage. For the devotees who come to the fair, free treatment camps, drinking water, lodging facilities for those who stay at night, toilet facilities and maximum security have been provided.

It is estimated that more than 1.8 million devotees will come from places like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Rupandehi, Palpa, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengal in India. Lal Muhammad Ansari, chairman of the organizing fair committee, said that it is believed that more devotees will come this year than in previous years as the season is clear.

Madar Baba’s real name is Hazrat Badiuddin Shah Rahmatullah Alaih Qutubul Madar Shah.
According to Muslim belief, this fair is being celebrated as the 606th anniversary of the great sage Wadiuddin Shah.

Although this fair belongs to the Muslim community, it is considered to be the center of faith for Hindus and Muslims. Baba Amirullah Ansari, abbot of Madar Baba, said that the vows and wishes of the devotees who come to Madar Baba’s shrine with vows, sorrows and wishes will be fulfilled and childless couples will have children and the sorrows of the poor will be relieved and believed.
