Kapilvastu, Nepal: Scientific Forest Management Network Kapilvastu, Nepal has conducted discussion and introductory program. The program was held at the office of Kapilvastu Partnership Forest at Shivraj Municipality-3, Kharendrapur on Thursday.
The Scientific Forest Management Network formed under the Division Forest Office Kapilvastu has stated that discussions and introductory program have been held at Gautam Buddha Division Forest Office Chandrauta between 13 community forest user groups in the district and 3 partnership forest management in accordance with scientific management.
Addressing the introductory program, Chairman of the Tilaurakot Partnership Forest Management Committee, Jay Prakash Pandey, said that scientific forest in the country is the work done by experts. I help to scale the sustainable development with economically healthy environment.
Stressing on the need to revise the government’s policy for forest management, Pandey accused it of being against the interest of the people. Therefore, keeping in mind the impact of partnership and community forest users, the government should allow forest management as per action and plan; otherwise the network will be forced to take strict steps for forest management.
In the program chaired by Renu Sen, Coordinator of Scientific Forest Management, most of the speakers said that they have made significant contribution in scientific forest management and it is necessary for the government to pay attention to the voice raised by the network.
Stating that it is necessary to create scientific forest by sustainably managing the forest, noting that the incident of Kailali-Kanchanpur is not a battle of community forest, they have also claimed that the forest management association is being scrapped by making it green for years.
The program was conducted by Kapilvastu Partnership Forest Management Chairman Gangesh Nath Tiwari, Janaki Prasad Yadav, Jagdamba Prasad Chaudhary and community forest representatives from Kapilvastu district and Surya Bahadur Malla, secretary of the network.
