Nepal: On the occasion of Prithivi Day, various programs have been organized in different places of Kapilvastu. On the occasion, the 299th birth anniversary of Nation Builder Shri 5 Prithvinarayan Shah and National Unity Day was celebrated, said the organizer. Despite the government’s indifference, people are celebrating Prithivi Day as a national holiday.
Governments formed after 2063 BS have been showing hostility towards Prithivi Day. But from the grassroots level, this day is celebrated grandly.
On the same occasion, in the program organized by Independent Civil Society Nepal Banganga Municipality 8, hundreds of citizens expressed their solidarity. It is said that nation-builder Prithvi Narayan Shah should not be forgotten at various places in Banganga of Kapilvastu.
Ward Chairperson of Banganga Municipality Ward No. 8 Gunnidhi Bhusal said that nation-builder Prithvinarayan Shah should not be forgotten. He said that Prithvi Narayan Shah, who was born in Gorkha on December 11, 1779 BS, had made a great contribution to the construction of modern Nepal by uniting small states and pointed out that the contribution of President Prithvinarayan should always be remembered.
Similarly, Jagannath Bhandari, Ward President of Nepali Congress Banganga Municipality, Ward No. 8, said that the youths should not forget Prithivi Day.
He said that nation-building should not be forgotten. Similarly, Gita Bhusal, Durga Aryal, Sita Bhattarai Acharya, Sakranti Tharu, Ram Prasad Poudel, Hari Malla Diwas Ghimire, Sant Bahadur Chhetri, Damodar Pokhrel, and hundreds of others expressed their solidarity in the Prithvi Day program.
