2 days training on gender based violence, child protection and social health

Bhairahawa, Nepal: A two-day training program on Gender Based Violence, Child Protection and Social Health has started at Peace Night Hotel in Bhairahawa, Nepal with the support of ABC Nepal and Storm Foundation.

Speaking at the training, which was presided by ABC Nepal Regional Head Manaj Lamichhane, Lamichhane said that women and adolescents affected by various forms of sexual violence such as sexual abuse, rape, torturing and family disputes should be sensitized and educated.

He also said that it is important to spread awareness among the community about child protection, social and safe living.

During the training, trainer Kamala Gahatraj openly analyzed the issues of gender based violence, child protection and psychosocial health. Thousands of children in Nepal are living a life of child marriage and child labor.

Gahatraj said that the main reason for such problems is lack of education and financial constraints and pressure from family.
