Chaotic in Chandrauta Bazaar of Kapilvastu, businessman disobeying the legal notice, Nepal news

Nepal: The city has been tormented to implement the information issued by Kapilvastu‘s Shivaraj Municipality. It is understood that the notice could not be implemented even after 3 weeks of its issuance.

The city had published the notice on July 7, saying it would remove the structures built by encroaching on the road. It is said that the city could not implement the ultimatum even after issuing the notice due to political reasons. The structures constructed contrary to the Road Act are still the same.

Citizen leaders are of the view that the implementation has been delayed saying that the businessmen may get angry as the local level election is approaching.

The municipality has issued notice to remove the structures built by encroaching the road in the market area of ​​Chandrauta area in Shivaraj of the district. Stakeholders say that they have remained silent even after the end of the week.

Though the municipality has issued a notice to remove the structures constructed by encroaching on the road, the traders trading in the encroached roads have been defying the information and the locals claim that the concerned body hasn’t taken any initiative.

The market itself has become chaotic as road encroachment cannot be removed. Chief Administrative Officer of Shivraj Municipality Ganesh Prasad Aryal said that the municipality will now take strict action against those who have encroached on the road ignoring the information of the municipality.

He said, “Now, to remove the road encroachment, the decision should be taken by the working committee of the city, the road committee, and the local association.”

According to the locals, the divider placed at Chandrauta Chowk, the main city of Shivaraj Municipality, has become unorganized. Locals have alleged that the municipality has not been able to pay attention to the increase in accidents due to the improper placement of dividers on the road.
